– PriceWaterhouseCoopers Selected as Validation Agent for ‘.eu’ Domain

Start of Sunrise Period in Late 2005
– Registrar Agreement to be Available This May. EURid Will Then Begin
Accrediting .eu Registrars and Publishing a List on Their Web Site

‘Pre-Registrations’ on File, Ready to Go
Preparations for the launch of the ‘.eu’ Domain took a major step forward
a few days back when ICANN (Internet Corporation For Assigned Names and
Numbers) approved EURid’s application to take the fresh Top Level Domain (TLD)
into ICANN’s root files.
This is the final step to enable EURid to get on with their work to make
this notable fresh Domain a reality.
Registrar accreditation will give the green light for the start of the
real work of .eu Domain Name registration preparations to get underway. With
a number of hundred pre-registrations by now on their files, EuroDNS’s will have
its work cut out to confirm all the necessary support and justifications
by now on hand.

all been waiting for. Our back office systems are by now operational, and we
can now begin the mammoth task of assembling and reviewing our applicant’s
data in preparation for the verification process later this summer.”
EuroDNS is well prepared for this work. The firm will launch its
supporting services shortly to assist applicants obtain the necessary
qualifications – a European-based firm, or an EU or European national
trademark are required to qualify for the initial ‘Sunrise’ period.
