Jour buys 3-letter domain for less than full brand name price — Luxe Du

This firm is happy with its three-letter domain, which cost less than it offered to pay for its longer full brand name in .com.
Here’s an interesting end user domain name purchase story.
Luxury goods seller Luxe Du Jour started in Canada with the domain name LuxeDuJour.ca.
It sounds like the business is going well. But the firm ran into a hitch when it expanded to the United States: its .ca domain wouldn’t cut it anymore.
The obvious solution was to buy LuxeDuJour.com.
In a Tik Tok video (embedded below), Tammy Phan, CEO of the luxury goods firm, stated her firm offered $100,000 to buy the .com from the blogger that uses the domain. They were rebuffed, but ended up with a shorter domain for less: LDJ.com.
Phan states they paid $80,000 to get the short domain.
And in a follow up video, Phan stated getting a .com was critical for the business.
