For .SuperIntelligence, 17 other top level domains — Meta applies

Tech giant wants .superintelligence, .agent, and other TLDs.

For many people, the first time they heard the term “super intelligence” was when Donald Trump uttered the term last month.
During a speech to the United Nations, Trump stated that the U.S. would refer to artificial intelligence as super intelligence going forward. He later signed an executive order to that effect.
That set off a flurry of registrations in Slovenia’s .si top level domain.
But the term super intelligence has been around for a while. In fact, when Meta (NASDAQ: META), the firm behind Facebook and Instagram, applied for top level domains this year, it included .SuperIntelligence among its applications.
Applications were due in August, and ICANN, the organization that oversees domain names, made the list public today.
Another firm, Radix, also applied for .superintelligence, but as a “replacement string” in case another application didn’t work out. Since Meta applied as a primary string, Radix’s application is void.
This means Meta will get .superintelligence.
It applied for .superintelligence as an open domain, meaning people will be able to register their own .superintelligence domain names. That’s a lot to type; most will prefer .si.
Meta also applied for .agent. It will have to battle other tech firms, counting Google and OpenAI, for the domain.
Here’s the full list of Meta’s top level domain applications disclosed today:
