Replaces Ben Crawford as CentralNic CEO — Michael Riedl

A surprise leadership change at CentralNic.

Picture of Ben Crawford

Ben Crawford has retired from CentralNic (AIM: CNIC) following leading the firm as CEO since 2009. He is also departing the board.

The firm’s CFO, Michael Riedl, has been promoted to CEO. Riedl came over to the firm from KeyDrive, which CentralNic purchased in 2019.

Crawford led CentralNic through an IPO and turned it into a rollup of domain name firms, and later added online advertising firms. The firm generated just $2 million of revenue when he was appointed CEO, and now generates a whopping $700 million per year. The firm has a market cap of £400 million.

William “Billy” Green, Group Financial Director, will be the fresh CFO, initially in a non-board capacity.

The firm stated it expects full-year results to be at least in line with the upper end of market expectations.
