Rightside: 2 $100k .Video Sales, $1M from .News and fresh TLD renewal rates

Rightside reveals three interesting numbers regarding its fresh top level domain names.

Rightside held its quarterly analyst call yesterday following releasing second quarter results.

Here are three interesting notes regarding fresh top level domain names that Rightside mentioned on the call:

1. The firm has sold two more domains for at least $100,000. The names were not disclosed, but both were under the .Video top level domain.


2. The firm has received $1 million cash from .news so far. It recognizes the revenue over time, but this is a good start for the top level domain.

3. Early renewal rates for Rightside’s TLDs have averaged above 70%. Rightside expects this number to settle in between the 50% first year rates on .com domains and the 70% range.
