Johnston Steps Down, Will Open Private Practice — Sedo’s Jeremiah

Long time domain industry exec steps down.

Sedo has just confirmed a rumor that started percolating recently: COO Jeremiah Johnston is leaving the firm.

Johnston will remain General Counsel to the firm as he opens his own private practice.

Honestly, with Johnston’s involvement with all of the firm’s legal business I had kind of forgotten that he was also COO.

He was instrumental in bringing resources and money to Internet Commerce Association, and he will continue on as the association’s president.

In a statement released by Sedo:

“With the growing awareness regarding the importance of domains, the launch of fresh gTLDs and growing debate over internet regulations, it is an exciting time for IP law,” stated Johnston. “I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue my work with a firm I truly believe in, while taking advantage of an notable opportunity to dive more deeply into issues that are affecting the Internet on a much broader scale.”
