Into the domain registry business — Squarespace gets

Registrar applies for 15 top level domains.

Domain name registrar and web presence platform Squarespace has thrown its hat into the ring for fresh top level domain names.

The firm applied for 15 top level domains with ICANN this year:

brand
chef
class
firm
goods
gym
hub
lab
learn
member
planner
pod
skill
trainer
venue

Squarespace is one of the largest domain name registrars, thanks to its buyout of Google Domains in 2023.

Its TLD selections likely reflect, in part, data on the types of sites people build on Squarespace.

Squarespace’s biggest competition for its strings will be GoDaddy, which applied for nine of the strings that Squarespace applied for.

Only four of Squarespace’s domains have no competition: .member, .planner, .trainer, and .venue.
