Superyacht firm rebrands as Y.CO

YCO Yacht rebrands its business to Y.CO.

Y.coA superyacht brokerage and management firm has changed its brand to Y.CO, and disclosed the change in conjunction with the Monaco Yacht Show going on now.

The firm’s previous brand was YCO Yacht, so the Y.CO domain name fit perfectly for it. This is a case where the full domain name, counting the extension, matched the existing brand. The firm previously used the domain YCOYacht.com.

YCO probably paid dearly for the domain name. Other firms that own single letter .co domain names include Amazon, Twitter, and Google.

The yachting business is a high dollar industry. Back in 2007 the domain name MegaYachts.com sold for $150,000 at a TRAFFIC auction, although that was probably the “peak auction” for domain names.
