This four letter domains sold for a lot of money, and here are some potential uses.
West.cn noted on March 2 that the domain MPZS.com was sold for 80,000 yuan (regarding $11,400). As stated by the same news, the market price for four letter .com domains has increased from around 2,100 yuan in mid-February to around 2,700 yuan now. So, what MPZS.com is a definite outlier.
Many firms in China use 4-pin names. For example, the global player Alibaba is actually 4-pin (A Li Ba Ba = 阿里巴巴). Didi Chuxing, the taxi-hailing firm which swallowed up the all-mighty Uber China in 2016, is another example (Di Di Chu Xing = 滴滴出行).
Four letter domains are great since they are relatively cheap but can be used by startups as acronyms of their 4-pin names. In the case of MPZS.com, it can be used to create many brands for application in a variety of business fields. Below are some examples I came up with.

MPZS.com.cn provides interior decoration services, and its name is Ming Peng Zhuang Shi (铭鹏装饰=interior decoration engraved with a bird, in literal translation). MPZS.net is also in the same field, and its name is Ming Pin Zhuang Shi (铭品装饰=interior decoration engraved with character).
Be aware that many 4-pin names can be upgraded to 2-pin or two letter. In the above examples, MPZS can be upgraded to MingPeng.com, MingPin.com, or simply MP.com since Zhuang Shi is a suffix describing the business field of the firms and therefore can be omitted. For domain investors owning the mentioned domains for upgrade, that is good news.
