27 fresh TLDs have passed their initial evaluation

First batch of fresh TLDs have passed initial evaluation.

Today was a big milestone in the fresh top level domain name process.

ICANN’s fresh top level domain application status page is now showing the first top level domain names to pass Initial Evaluation.

As of the time of writing, 27 domains have passed initial evaluation.

Since they were given precedence in the fresh TLD prioritization draw, all 27 are internationalized domain names.

Of the first 28 prioritization slots, only #7 (an application by Temasek Holdings (Private) Limited for) and #18 (an application by SAMSUNG SDS CO., LTD) are not showing as having passed yet. They are not showing as failed, either.

Update: In a video posted by ICANN, they stated the hold up on these other applications is primarily administrative.
