Afilias purchases 101Domain

Domain name registry Afilias has purchased domain name registrar 101Domain.

Afilias, which manages the .info and .mobi domain names as well as a bunch of fresh TLDs, now owns a registrar known for carrying every domain name under the sun.

101Domain made a name for itself by carrying just regarding every domain name, regardless of how challenging their requirements. One of the reasons I quote pricing for fresh TLDs at 101Domain is since I can be sure they’re carrying it; I don’t have to check a registrar only to find out they don’t have information regarding it.

101Domain president and CEO Wolfgang Reile is stepping down as part of the buyout. Long-term COO/CFO Anthony M. Beltran will lead 101Domain operations under Afilias.
