Google registers Stories.google domain name

Google’s next .brand site might be stories.google.

What’s next for Google’s .brand domain name .google? It will likely be stories.google.

The firm registered the stories.google domain name under its .brand domain a few days back. I’m not aware of any Google site or service called stories, and neither stories.google or google.com/stories resolve.

While the stories.google domain name doesn’t lead to a website yet, the registration is a sure sign that it plans to do something with it. It might be a while, though. Google registered domains.google on October 1 last year and started using it in March of this year.

Fresh top level domain name registries are banking on firms starting to use their .brand domain names to raise awareness for fresh domain name choices.
