And Whois API make the Inc. 5000 list (again) — Identity Digital

Firms show lower (but still impressive) growth in the latest list of fast-growing private firms.

Two DNS firms made the 2025 Inc. 5000 list, which measures fast-growing private firms in the United States.

Top level domain firm Identity Digital made the list for the fifth year in a row. It came in at #4,214 with 82% revenue growth between 2021 and 2024. Last year, it ranked #3,235 with 152% growth.

Identity Digital took over management of the .ai namespace in January, which ought to give the firm healthy revenue growth again this year. Under Inc.’s methodology, Identity Digital ought to be able to include all wholesale revenue from .ai domain sales.

Security and data firm Whois API came in at #4,271 with 80% three-year growth. Last year, the firm was #1,847 with 273% growth. Whois API has been on the list every year since 2017, except for 2020.

Update: Atom.com also made the list, coming in at #3,274 with 122% growth.
