Kicks off Webfest conference in Los Angeles — Oversee.net CEO

Webfest attendees will hear a lot regarding mobile this stretch.

Debra DomeyerThe last time she took stage at a Webfest conference, it wasn’t even called Webfest.

One year following her debut domain conference talk, Debra Domeyer is now CEO instead of co-CEO of Oversee.net, and the conference is called Webfest instead of DOMAINfest.

Domeyer kicked of this year’s Webfest conference in Santa Monica with a clear message: mobile, mobile, mobile.

It may seem cliche as everyone is talking regarding mobile, but she had numbers to back it up.

At the beginning of 2012, Oversee.net network traffic was 12%-13% mobile.

By the end of the year it was averaging 18%-20%.

December 2012 saw 27% of traffic on mobile devices, and Domeyer estimates it will hit 37%-38% by the end of the year.

Those are some serious numbers.

So although mobile may be a buzzword across the web these days, Domeyer’s message was that it’s becoming a big enough deal that people (counting domainers) have to act on it now.
