DiplomaFrame.com: We Get It Award

Church Hill Classics uses DiplomaFrame.com to drive business.

A Reglike reader recently opened a brochure for diploma frames that came with his order from Connecticut-based Church Hill Classics. He was surprised to see that the firm’s domain name was the generic and descriptive DiplomaFrame.com. The firm also owns DiplomaFrames.com.

Not only do these two domains get type-in traffic, but they position Church Hill Classics as a leader in the industry with instant name recognition.

It turns out the firm “got it” early on. Firm President Lucie Voves registered both of the domain names in 1997. Church Hill Classics marketing assistant Jessica Joram stated via e-mail, “She did it since she wanted to own the domain for the product category we compete in. We bought both diplomaframe.com and diplomaframes.com in 1997, and decided to use the singular as the main domain name since it was shorter.”

Ahead of getting into the diploma frame market, the firm sold framed art of college campuses. “We developed a good reputation under this firm name, and then moved into offering diploma frames following we received a number of client requests for them,” stated Voves. “Since the Church Hill Classics firm name was not descriptive of our emerging product line, we felt that developing the diplomaframe.com site was a valuable marketing opportunity.”
