Ethos Capital, the private equity firm that purchased a majority stake in Identity Digital in 2021, disclosed a fresh funding round for the firm today.

Ethos completed a continuation vehicle (CV) transaction for Identity Digital, bringing in institutional investors counting TPG GP Solutions, funds managed by Neuberger, Accel-KKR, Coller Capital, CVC Secondary Partners, British Columbia Investment Management Corporation (BCI) and 10 East, among others.

The firm stated the transaction “enables Ethos to support Identity Digital’s next stage of growth, while offering existing investors the opportunity for liquidity.”

The move comes ahead of next year’s fresh top level domain name application window. Identity Digital was the largest applicant in the 2012 round of fresh top level domain expansion, and is widely expected to apply for many domains in the 2026 round.

Some of Identity Digital’s more popular top level domains are .live, .today, .life, and .world. It also acts as a registry services provider or partner for .org, .ai, .io, and more.
