For 77 top level domains — GoDaddy applies

World’s biggest domain registrar wants to drastically expand its top level domain portfolio.

Domain name registrar GoDaddy (NYSE: GDDY) has applied for 77 top level domain names through its registry subsidiary.
The firm largely sat out the 2012 round of fresh TLD expansion. In 2020, it purchased Neustar’s registry business, and then rolled up a number of firms’ TLDs through buyout.
Some of GoDaddy’s owned and operated TLDs include .club, .design, and .xxx.
In the 2026 round, GoDaddy went big. It applied for 77 domains covering a range of topics.
But it’s going to have to invest a lot of money to ultimately run the domains. Sixty-six of the applications match strings that other firms applied for. (Some others might also be in contention due to ICANN’s fresh rule forbidding singular/plural combinations.)
Some of the firm’s more interesting applications include:
- .Airo – GoDaddy’s only dot-brand application. Airo is the name of its AI platform. The firm by now has .godaddy from the last round.
- .ANS and .agentID – These domains refer to the firm’s efforts to use DNS for agent identification. It has .ansid as a replacement string.
- .Labs – This is the most-contested string, in a tie with .agent. Thirteen firms applied for .lab or .labs.
